1. About Meridian Bank
Meridian Bank (in-game company name: MeridianBank) is a registered Commercial Bank in the Commonwealth of Redmont, incorporated under the Legal Entity Act. Meridian Bank is authorised to accept deposits, originate loans, process payments, and provide ancillary financial services in accordance with the Commercial Standards Act, the Taxation Act, and all other applicable laws of the Commonwealth.
By creating an account or using any Meridian Bank service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
To use Meridian Bank you must:
- Be a player on DemocracyCraft with a valid Minecraft account.
- Have a Discord account to authenticate with the platform.
- Link your Minecraft in-game name (IGN) to complete onboarding.
- Not be prohibited from transacting by any applicable rule or regulation of the Commonwealth.
Meridian Bank reserves the right to refuse or revoke access at its discretion.
3. Accounts
Meridian Bank offers personal and business accounts. Each account is tied to a single Discord identity. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must not share credentials, impersonate another player, or create accounts for purposes other than your own legitimate use.
Business accounts are opened on behalf of an in-game organisation. The account holder represents that they are authorised to act on behalf of that organisation.
4. Deposits and Withdrawals
Deposits are credited to your Meridian account when in-game currency is transferred to the bank's in-game account via the DemocracyCraft economy plugin. Withdrawals transfer in-game currency from your Meridian account back to your in-game balance.
Meridian Bank does not guarantee immediate processing of withdrawals. Processing times depend on availability of the DemocracyCraft economy API. In the event of a server outage, plugin failure, or other technical disruption, transactions may be delayed. Meridian Bank will make reasonable efforts to process transactions as quickly as possible.
You may not deposit or withdraw amounts that would result in a negative account balance. Meridian Bank applies both application-level and database-level controls to prevent overdrafts.
5. Transfers
Transfers between Meridian accounts are processed immediately and are generally not reversible once confirmed. You are solely responsible for verifying the destination account number before submitting a transfer. Meridian Bank is not liable for transfers made to incorrect accounts due to user error.
6. Loans
Meridian Bank originates loans in accordance with the Credit Standards Act of the Commonwealth of Redmont. All material loan terms — including principal, interest rate, term, and monthly payment — are disclosed in writing before you accept a loan. By accepting a loan you agree to repay it on the schedule disclosed.
Missed payments may result in your loan being marked delinquent. Meridian Bank reserves the right to take appropriate collection action in accordance with applicable law, including restricting your account.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities in the platform to obtain funds you are not entitled to.
- Manipulate the platform to give yourself or others an unfair financial advantage.
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the platform without authorisation.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or funds belonging to other users.
- Submit fraudulent deposit claims or manipulate transaction records.
- Use the platform for any purpose that violates DemocracyCraft server rules.
Any breach of this section may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of any improperly obtained funds, and referral to DemocracyCraft server staff.
8. Suspension and Termination
Meridian Bank may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or inactivity. Where possible, Meridian Bank will give reasonable notice. Upon termination, any outstanding loan obligations remain due. Deposits held at the time of closure will be made available for withdrawal subject to operational constraints.
9. Limitation of Liability
Meridian Bank provides its platform on an "as-is" basis. Meridian Bank makes no warranty that the platform will be available at all times or free from errors. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meridian Bank and its directors, officers, and employees are not liable for any loss of in-game currency, data, or other harm arising from your use of the platform, including losses caused by technical failures, server outages, or third-party plugin issues.
Because no real money or real-world assets are involved, all liability is limited to in-game currency amounts actually held in your Meridian account at the time of the relevant event.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Redmont. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of Meridian Bank shall first be submitted to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, the matter may be submitted to the appropriate judicial authority within the Commonwealth of Redmont. Meridian Bank operates in compliance with the Legal Entity Act, the Commercial Standards Act, and the Taxation Act.
11. Amendments
Meridian Bank may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced in our Discord server. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically.
